What Does This Warranty Cover?
We warrant that all of the hardware components of your Cyrix 6x86 system will be free from defects in materials or workmanship under normal use for as long as the coverage lasts. These are called "Warranted Parts."
How Long Does the Coverage Last?
Our warranty lasts for three years from the purchase date.
What is not Covered?
Our warranty does not cover components of the system which have been modified or serviced by anyone other than Cyrix or our authorized service providers. And we do not cover damage or failure due to abuse, accident, neglect, or failure to install or use the system consistent with the Owner's Manual. We do not warrant software or any components of the system other than the Warranted Parts. Cyrix hereby disclaims any warranties, express or implied, as to such other components including the warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
What Will We Do to Correct Problems?
If any of the Warranted Parts fails to operate properly while covered by this warranty, we will, at no additional charge, repair or replace defective parts with new parts or, at our option, serviceable used parts that are reasonably equivalent to new parts in performance. We warrant repaired or replaced parts for the remainder of the applicable warranty or thirty days from the date the part was shipped, whichever is longer. All parts replaced under this warranty are our property.
How Do You Get Service?
We provide warranty service on an exchange basis only. First call us at (800) 370-2578 to get an RMA number and then ship the defective component or entire system, along with the proof of purchase date, to the authorized service provider whose address we will provide. If you ship the equipment rather than deliver it in person, then you assume the risk of loss or damage during shipment. You must also ship the equipment in the original or equivalent shipping carton and pay the shipping and insurance charges.
Before you ship the product to Cyrix, back up the data on the hard-disk drives and any other storage devices on the product and any removable media such as diskettes, CDs, or PC cards.
What Else Should I Know?
ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR OF MERCHANTABILITY, ARE HEREBY LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE APPLICABLE PERIOD AS SET FORTH IN THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY. IF THIS SYSTEM OR ANY COMPONENT FAILS TO WORK FOR ANY REASON, YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY, AND CYRIX'S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE LIABILITY, IS REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT AS DESCRIBED IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE WILL CYRIX BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST SAVINGS, LOST PROFITS, REPLACEMENT EXPENSES, OR ANY OTHER DAMAGES CAUSED BY THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT OR THE INABILITY TO USE IT, EVEN IF CYRIX HAS BEEN ADVISED OF SUCH LIABILITY OR OTHER CLAIMS, WHETHER SUCH DAMAGES SOUND IN TORT, CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, UNDER STATUTE, OR OTHERWISE.
SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO SOME OF THE FOREGOING LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
Cyrix assumes no liability unless specifically agreed to in writing for customer's product design or infringement of patents or copyrights of third parties arising from the use of Cyrix devices. No license, either express or implied, to Cyrix's (or any affiliate's) patents, copyrights, or other intellectual property rights pertaining to any machine or combination of Cyrix's devices is hereby granted.
Cyrix products are not intended for use in any medical, life saving, or life sustaining systems. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
THIRTY DAY MONEY BACK POLICY
If you are the original purchaser or original lessee of a Cyrix 6x86 system, you may return it to us within thirty days of the date it was purchased for a complete refund of the purchase price. To return products, call our customer service at (800) 370-2578 to receive a credit return authorization number. Products must be returned in the original or equivalent shipping carton, and you assume the risk of loss or damage during shipping. Any software returned must be in the unopened sealed package which contained the diskettes or CD- ROMS. The returned products must be in as new condition and include all of the manuals, diskettes, cables and all other items originally included with the product.
