All Cyrix PCs are preloaded with Windows® 95 and fully configured prices range from $2,399 for the 6x86-P133 to $5,199 for the 6x86-P166. Windows NT is also available as an option.
"Cyrix's x86 compatibility is proven, with about 6 million processors installed in PCs worldwide, running Windows, MS-DOS, OS/2 and UNIX," continued Rogers.
According to Carl Stork, director of the Windows platform group at Microsoft Corp.,"Cyrix's 6x86 PCs will be a high-performance choice for Windows 95 users. The 6x86 processor has qualified for the 'Designed for Windows 95' logo."
The Cyrix 6x86 PC successfully completed testing by Novell Labs. "Cyrix equipment tested at Novell Labs is fully compatible with Novell Netware, the world's most popular networking software," said David Owen, vice president, Novell Labs.
Cyrix is targeting the power user in Fortune 1000 companies, small businesses and home offices where performance is a key criterion in the buying decision.
