Correct Usage of Cyrix Product Trademarks in Written Form
When creating communications that make use of Cyrix trademarks in written form, the following guidelines apply:
- Cyrix product trademarks should be used as adjectives only, not as nouns. This means that a lower-case noun must follow the trademark such as 6x86MX processor, MediaGX CPU, 6x86 chip, 6x86MX technology, MediaGX name, 6x86 logo, or 6x86MX trademark.
- Always use the correct trademark symbol ("TM" or "®") with Cyrix trademarks.
- Be sure to follow the correct punctuation and capitalization of Cyrix trademarks as noted in this document.
- Cyrix product trademarks should be preceded by the name "Cyrix" in any materials naming the product to give proper corporate attribution and product identification (e.g., the Cyrix 6x86MX processor).
- Proper designation of trademarks with the correct trademark symbol should occur on the first occurrence in the headline and on the first occurrence in copy.
- In the case of presentation graphics, the trademark symbols should be use on all trademark occurrences on all pages as individual pages could be copied, or pulled and used independently.
- Cyrix trademarks should not be hyphenated (e.g., PC-6x86MX) or incorporated in another party’s name, product brand name or model number.
- Other parties should use an appropriate attribution line such as "6x86MX is a trademark of Cyrix Corporation" or "Cyrix is a registered trademark of Cyrix Corporation."
Correct Usage of Cyrix Logos
Cyrix has developed graphic logos that may be used by authorized external parties who promote, market or sell Cyrix products.
- Cyrix logos can be approved for use on packaging, documentation, collateral, advertising and Web site pages.
- The logos must not be altered in any way. They must be taken directly from this official reproduction sheet or from official electronic artwork provided by Cyrix on disk or via the Cyrix Web site.
- Cyrix logos may not be displayed in a manner that suggests that your product is a Cyrix product, or in a manner that suggests the Cyrix logos are a part of your name.
- The logos cannot be larger than or more prominent than your product name, trademark or logo.
- The Cyrix logos must stand on their own. You may not combine them with any other object including other logos, words, graphics, photos, slogans, numbers, design features or symbols.
- The minimum size for any Cyrix logo is 1/2" (12.7mm) high.
- A minimum amount of empty space must be left between the Cyrix logo and any other object such as type, photography, borders, edges, etc.
