This guide is designed to help programmers create software that uses the System Management Mode (SMM). The SMM Programming Guide describes both SL SMM mode, and Cyrix SMM mode. The configuration control registers that control SMM are described. This document describes suspend mode, and explains techniques used to conserve power through lower clock frequencies and reduced CPU supply voltages. Applicable to all 6x86 processor voltages.
