Cyrix Signs Ingram Micro and Tech Data
Expands Distributor Base to Meet Increased Channel Demand

Richardson, Texas -- April 14, 1997 -- Expanding its presence in the U.S. reseller market, Cyrix Corporation (NASDAQ: CYRX) today announced the signing of two top-tier national distributors, Ingram Micro, Inc. and Tech Data Corporation. These distributors add to the expanding base of channel support for Cyrix and allow broader access to Cyrix's processor products.

Ingram Micro and Tech Data will provide resellers with Cyrix processors in single-unit packaging which gives resellers greater flexibility in managing their "just in time" inventory requirements. This allows resellers to build individual systems according to their customers' immediate demands.
