![]() Cyrix Appoints Two Vice Presidents Richardson, Texas -- July 30, 1996 -- Cyrix Corporation (NASDAQ: CYRX) today announced that Mark W. Bluhm has been promoted to vice president of technology and Robert D. Maher III has been promoted to vice president of engineering. Bluhm was the program manager and lead architect on the M1 project, which was later introduced as the Cyrix 6x86 processor. Maher was the program manager and lead architect on the M9 project, which was later introduced as the Cyrix 5x86 processor. Both previously shared the title of director of engineering. "Mark and Robert’s accomplishments have been critical to the success of Cyrix and their importance to the Company continues to grow," said Jerry Rogers, Cyrix president and chief executive officer.
