Cyrix Breaks Ground on New Facility
Processor Probe and Validation Group to be First Occupants

Richardson, Texas -- December 15, 1995 -- In a ceremony today at Cyrix Corporation (NASDAQ: CYRX) president and CEO Jerry Rogers, chairman of the board Berry Cash, vice president of manufacturing Nancy Dechaud, and Richardson Mayor Gary Slagel wielded silver shovels and hardhats to break ground on a new structure to be built over the next six months on the west side of the company's corporate headquarters.

The multimillion-dollar facility will house employees involved in the manufacture and delivery of processors developed by Cyrix and produced by the company's foundry partners, IBM Microelectronics and SGS-Thomson. The building could eventually house as many as 300 employees, including those of other divisions, depending on the growth of company operations over time.

"We expect to double the employee count at the Richardson headquarters over the next two years, commensurate with our expected growth in business," said Jerry Rogers, Cyrix president and CEO. "The impact of an increased payroll of highly-skilled jobs on the economy of the surrounding area will be significant."

"This new facility will not only provide additional room for the operations of our manufacturing group, but will create office space for the scores of engineers that we expect to hire in 1996," Rogers said. "The building will be constructed on land that has been previously financed and is expected to be complete by the summer of 1996."
